Hi there, PR Girls!
I’m Robyn, the voice behind PR Girl Diaries.
A little about myself… I’m 25 and I work in PR (duh!). I’m a Jersey girl through & through, even though I currently live in Pittsburgh, Pa. I can’t sit still – which explains how I work as a marketing coordinator by day, a PR associate for a boutique firm the rest of the time & I write for not one, but four blogs on a regular basis. In case you were wondering, yes, I really like to write – about PR, about life, about my interests and sometimes, even about baseball.
My love of writing, my innate need to plan nearly everything in my life, my incessant note taking and list making is what led me to public relations actually. In high school, I worked at a small, locally owned restaurant. I volunteered to take some of the planning, scheduling and promotion responsibilities off the hand of the GM at the time to help out a bit and found that I really loved building relationships with different organizations in our community, chatting with local media and helping patrons plan their special events. That is when I decided that PR was the career for me.
I came to live in Pittsburgh after deciding to attend Duquesne University back in 2008. Seven years, two degrees and two jobs later, here I am writing and growing. I’ve found that I still love PR and that working with clients is one of my favorite parts. I enjoy building those relationships and nurturing them to create lasting partnerships that are beneficial for everyone involved. How could I not love a career that let’s me do all the things that I love daily?
